When you venture into Praque’s streets in late February don’t be surprised to see residents there attired in allegorical costumes, contributing to the overall masked spectacle that is the Bohemian Carnival. The opening party at the Clam-Gallas Palace in Old Town kicks things off, and the festival program encompasses art shows, food demonstrations, evening parties, and the world renown Cendelion-Grand Defile.

Cuisine d’Alchimiste is the gastronomic aspect of the carnival, with participating restaurants across the city offering exquisite treats for all comers. February 27th, children are the subject audience of the Amoretto, to take place at Clam-Gallas, workshops and the best mask competition for the little ones being the highlights. On March 5th, the same venue will host the much anticipated Crystal Ball, an evening of such baroque imagery and magic, surely no one in attendance could forget.
