Coming up June 12th and 13th in Chania, an OPEN HOUSE pop-up event offers visitors free of charge guided tours of the city’s architectural wonders.
A city with over 5,000 years of history, Chania has been a bustling urban center since the time of Minoan Kydonia. From the Arabic Hanim to the Byzantine, Venetian, Ottoman rule, and the Greek Orthodox period, this picturesque town’s wonderful history is reflected in its rich architecture.
On June 12th and 13th, more than 70 volunteers will guide visitors to selected architectural marvels for free. Here is a map of the location of the buildings. Chania visitors to 15 public and private buildings:

To join the tours simply visit the sites that interest you during their opening hours. Please arrive in time for the specific buildings you wish to tour, during normal business hours. The tours will begin by order of priority based on the time of arrival. No reservations are necessary, and there is no entrance fee.
