Moscow Volvo Fashion Week Shows Off Hot New Trends

Some of Russia’s top designers have been busy this week, showcasing their creative talents with the latest fashion trends during a celebration of music, color and style at the Moscow Volvo Fashion Week.

For designer Dmitry Loginov, black proved to be a major inspiration; he offered up a collection of full of mystery and dark colors, with models strutting their stuff accompanied by dramatic, symphonic music.

Loginov showed off just how forward-thinking he can be, with a balance of simplicity and drama, eccentricity and modesty evident in his collection of elegant suits and dresses.

Just as inspiring was the collection by Saint Petersburg native Alyona Akhmadullina, whose ‘intellectual’ approach to design has earned her international acclaim in the past. Ever the perfectionist, her jaw-dropping collections showed off her usual fusion of elegance and reason, and sense and sensibility.

Also on show was an expression of charisma and individualism by Razu Mikhina. The St. Martin’s School of Art graduate once again demonstrated her penchant for simple, yet comfortable elegance in each of her designs.

Razu Mikhina’s creations are most unusual in that they’re often inspired by nature, literature and music, and usually incorporate traditional Russian folk designs; lending her fellow designers to describe her work as “casual chic with a Russian twist”.

The Moscow Volvo Fashion Week took place from October 24 to 29. You can visit the official website or its Facebook page to learn more about the exciting creations on display.
