Lasithi Region Creates “Fam Trip” to Woo Austrians

The Lassithi Plateau

In news from the Lasithi Regional unit of Crete, officials of the prefecture recently organized a special introduction to the region in cooperation with GNTO Austria. A fam trip was created to highlight the unique beauty of Eastern Crete, and to “familiarize” Austrians with the area.

Organizers invited Austrian journalist, Claudius Rajchl and cameraman Bernhard Wieland to visit the region from October 7th thru October 10th so that they might make a reportage on the unique landscapes and touristic value of the area.

According to the news from Sitia Press (in Greek), the journalist and the cameraman marveled at the beauty of the island, having visited the beach of Vai, the beaches of Agios Nikolaos, the traditional village of Kritsa, Elounda. The guests also enjoyed the special local gastronomy at the restaurant “ΚΑΡΝΑΓΙΟ” and were duly impressed by the unique hospitality of the inhabitants of the island.

Claudius Rajchl is noted as a PR, marketing, and journalism specialist in Vienna. The report from Sitia says Rajchl cooperated with tour Operator Rewe Austria and Austrian Airlines, to highlight the area in a special tribute which will be published in the journal (paper and electronic) Salzburger Nachrichten. There is not enough traffic data at Alexa or via Similarweb to determine Rajchl’s Travel TV website’s viewers. He does have 92 followers on his YouTube channel. The Austrian marketer has 66 followers on Facebook, as well.

In other Crete visibility news,  journalist Ida Ferdinand of Denmark, who created travel guides for Scandinavians headed to the region, is back in the East of Crete to update those guides with new information.  The Regional Unit of Lasithi has also helped this journalist with new info and tours of other areas guide readers may be interested in.

Ferdinand’s stay is hosted  by “FLISVOS” in Sitia and the “HELIOS APARTMENTS” in the town center.
