Still going on in Slovakia, the annual Košice Day celebrations have been extended over nine days up until May 8th. This, the 19th year of the eastern Slovakian city is highlighted by the folklore, history, gastronomy, sport, and culture of this fascinating place.

Also this event is to be followed by the Days of Pentapolitana festivities organised by the European Capital of Culture Košice 2013 (ECOC) and the Day of Europe. Some of the popular spectacles and events visitors can look forward to include; the Košické Benátky / Košice Venice boat contest, a massive goulash cook-off, the Cassovia Retro vintage car parade, and the traditional Maypole dance.
