In news from Athens, the Hellenic Tourism Development Co. (HTD Co.) has decided to launch an International Public Tender Process over two phases, via negotiation following a pre-qualification procedure, seeking the development of the Vouliagmeni Marina, through a long-term lease agreement of forty (40) years.
Vouliagmeni Marina is located on the southeast coast of Mikro Kavouri Attikis, 21km from downtown Athens. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious marinas in Greece, which provides high levels of privacy to its users, and is the preferred berthing location for luxury class vessel owners.
The marina offers proximity to luxurious hotels as well as recreational and tourism facilities. The land area of the marina covers approximately 47.165 sq.m. and the marine area approximately 115.970 sq.m. The draft of the marina’s port ranges from 2,5 to 5 m. approximately.
According to the report, the Contracting Parties shall undertake are the following:
- To ensure the quality level of provided services
- Provide high level of operation, safety and security services
- Implement an annual scheduled maintenance and overhaul plan, including landscaping of any areas included in the lease
- Abide by applicable in force legal framework
- Comply with archaeological, environmental, and urban planning restrictions
Also, the Contracting Party will be entitled to undertake, at its own risk and cost, the reinforcement of the protection afforded to visiting vessels, the renovation of infrastructure of the marine and land areas, the improvement of the electromechanical systems, the overall upgrading of the marina, and to the degree that it is feasible, the increase of the marina’s berthing capacity, so as to provide superior quality services.
For this purpose, HTD Co invites Greek and foreign legal entities and unions or consortia or joint-ventures of Greek and/or foreign legal entities or individuals and legal entities. Interested parties must possess, as legal entities expressing their interest individually, proven on-going experience in marina management or 5* or equivalent luxury standard Tourism Facilities or include legal entities as members or be in cooperation with, with the aforementioned prerequisites.
Applications and Dossiers for the Expression of Non – Binding Interest must be submitted at the headquarters of HTD Co. on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 from 09:00 to 12:00, local time. Their opening, by the appropriate Tender Committee, will take place at 12:30 on the same. The session will be open to the legal representatives of participating parties.
