IAVRA acquired by MetaMarketplace

MetaMarketplace, a travel technology company, has announced having acquired B2B vacation rental platform IAVRA via its parent Demeure Operating Company. Now one of the world’s most innovative digital vacation connects is powered by a leading commerce technology company.

IAVRA, which we’ve covered several times on Argo, is a  B2B focused vacation rental marketplace connect with some 2000+ international travel professionals and over 8,000 properties across 58 countries. This new partnership between the two entities empowers MetaMarketplace partners with an even more vast selection of villas, city apartments, chalets, lodges and vacation rentals worldwide. JC Moquette, IAVRA’s  founding partner, offered this:

“We had both identified the same industry challenges of fragmentation and unregulated product. We were independently helping businesses access qualified professionally managed vacation rentals in a transparent and efficient way. Joining forces was an obvious next step. Together we have a larger portfolio of properties curated to meet trade-quality standards, new tools to offer our partners, and with MetaMarketplace’s bold new model, the chance to extend something really valuable and unique to the industry – an easy way to build travel marketplaces that connect certified accommodation to previously unreachable channels of demand.”

As for MetaMarketplace, the new platform with IAVRA will offer buyers and sellers a powerful infrastructure to connect. Untapped channels of supply and demand for rentals all over the world can now be accessed. Demeure CEO, Peter Schwartz (top left via Demure), had this to say about the acquisition:

“With IAVRA on board, our marketplace partners have easy access to a dynamic and trustworthy portfolio of certified properties curated to meet the demand of their travelers without the need to establish hundreds of commercial relations”. He also asserts that Marketplaces are the right model for the business, as they function on sound principles of commerce and transparent, authentic relationships. “The end result is more value for buyers and sellers alike and a place where travelers want to book their vacation rentals.”

This connect offers buyers and sellers a unique opportunity in the vacation rental space as top sellers rental management companies are more closely paired with properties from boutique hotels to private villas, and even timeshare opportunities.
