For people who wonder why Greece is one of the leading travel destinations year after year, Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey offers some clues. The famous star of such movies as; A Time to Kill, The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and Interstellar (2014) told the TV audience of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently about his love of Greece after a holiday to the Aegean this summer.

In the interview (Below) with Fallon McConaughey told a worldwide audience about his family’s getaway to the Cyclades. The actor related the family’s time on the Greek islands, and how traveling around with his wife Camila Alves, their children, Matthew’s mother and his father in law, was an experience in paradise.

Joining McConaughey and his family in a rental house was fellow actor Woody Harrelson and his family basking in the Greek lifestyle. McConaughey told Fallon:

“We were there (in Greece) 3 weeks in paradise, we had freedom, the water is amazing, Greece is just beautiful it’s inherently generous, the sea doesn’t bite, the air doesn’t bite, the land doesn’t bite. It’s beautiful. People love family, we had a great three weeks and decided when it was time to go, we weren’t ready to leave so we said let’s do this another week, let’s stay in paradise another week and we all agreed.”

The families enjoyed the sun and the sea on Antiparos, a small island at the heart of the Cyclades very close to Paros. McConaughey was most impressed with Greece’s natural beauty and by the respect with which Greeks show toward elderly women like his mom,  Mary Kathleen (KMAC).
