Check24 Data Reveals German Traveler Preference for Crete

According to Check24, Crete island attracts the second-largest share of German travelers booking island destinations for 2020 so far. The demand data from the platform shows holiday packages to Crete are second only to Majorca, a traditionally favored destination for the German traveler.

One in three Germany planning holidays to island destinations in Europe chose Majorca, followed by Crete with a 14.7% share, and Rhodes with 7.3%. Kos Island ranked sixth (5.9%) while Corfu and Paxi ranked eighth (2.9%). 

Compared to last year, prices in all island destinations in Europe are on the rise, with the sharpest hikes recorded in Ibiza (+12.5%) and in Crete (+11%).

The cheapest packages can be located in Corfu and Paxi, as a holiday day costs an average of 86 euros. As low as Prices in Tenerife are equally low  (90 euros) while the most expensive rates are recorded in Ibiza (113 euros).

The Check24 website gets about 31 million visits per month according to data from Similarweb.
