Fronius Residence Offers Free Guided Tours of Sighisoara

Aside five-star luxury accommodation in Romania’s walled old town, the Fronius Residence offers free guided tours of the Citadel for those who book one of their historic rooms. The hotel welcomes its guests in a historic building, erected in 1609 by the Fronius family. This is one of the few buildings that survived the devastating fire of 1676, a silent witness of Sighisoara’s history and cultural legacy, which is reflected in the interior decoration of the rooms, and the warm hospitality of the place.

Five-star accommodation doesn’t come with a five-star tag price. With only 120€ for a double room, Fronius Residence can be considered an affordable hotel – although not many Romanians could afford lodging here. But for foreign travelers who want to enjoy a medieval town in all comfort and safety, the Fronius Residence has a lot to offer: with all its rooms the hotel provides facilities and services such as king bed, safety box, room service, wireless Internet, air conditioning, beauty center and spa, car rental, medical assistance, room service, guarded parking, and even free guided tours of the city.

The tours show you many important attractions, including the landmark of the city - the Clock Tower - a 64m high tower built in the 13th century, which is today a museum of history.

In Fronius you'll find a history of 500 years mixed with a 5 star luxury right in the middle of the Citadel.

Each Fronius Residence room has a different style, but all feature original furnishings, and ceilings that still bear the marks of the great fire. The door locks are still the old original ones, from the first turn of the key you will be transported back in time, when Sighisoara was one of the most important cities of Transylvania, with an important strategic and commercial role at the edges of Central Europe. The furniture decorating the rooms is antique, yet not original to the house. It was, however, sourced piece by piece from different areas of Transylvania, so you will find many authentic items from the area. The rooms are tastefully decorated, making them ideal for any travel purpose, from business to family and romance…

The elegant Casia room, for example, is an ideal setting for romance.

Fronius Residence is one of the few stunning buildings in Sighisoara, a reason to visit the city in itself. If you plan visiting the city for the Medieval Festival held on the last weekend of July, there is no better moment to book your stay than the present. The festival, quiet popular, makes even the most expensive accommodation unavailable.
