EMITT 2017 Attracts Many Russian Companies

EMITT 2017, the 21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition, is the largest event of its kind in Turkey.

EMITT 2017 takes place at the Tüyap Fair, Convention and Congress Center beginning with January 26, 2017, and ending on January 29, the same year. The largest travel and tourism exhibition and fair in the country, the event welcomes 5000 organizations and institutions from 80 countries. The 21st International East Mediternnen Tourism and Travel Exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkish Republic, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Turkish Airlines, with support from KOSGEB and in partnership with Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD).

The main feature of EMITT 2017 is the Hosted Buyer Program, which provides business partnership opportunities to sectors’ players at the international level. Over 60 countries participate in the program, including Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirate, South Africa, India, Spain, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Macedonia, Portugal, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Jordan, and Greece among others.

“We’ve already received applications from 60 countries that wish to join the exhibition,” said Hacer Aydin, ITE Turkey Tourism, Travel and Fashion Group Director. “Russia is among the countries that have shown the greatest interest. Also, we expect the number of companies from Russia applying for the program to increase until the exhibition date,” he added.

EMITT 2017 is one of the top five travel and tourism exhibitions in the world, and participation brings significant benefits to players in the sector, and it is recognized for its direct contribution to the growth of the tourism industry in the region. The 21st East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition is organized in several industry groups, including accommodation tourism, travel services, health and spa tourism, transportation services, IT and software services, organization services, national advertising organizations and companies and NGOs, international advertising organizations and companies, amusement tourism, hotel equipment, finance, insurance and auditing services, media, and other tourism activities.
