In cruise news, Cruise Critic® has just named the 2011 Cruise Critic Editor’s Picks Awards to honor top cruise lines, ports of call, and other things nautical travel.
Among the many category winners, Disney Cruise Line won for “Best New Ship” for the new Disney Dream. That fabulous ship also sailed off with “Best Inside Cabins,” while the line also received the “Best Standard Cabins” award.

Carnival Cruise Lines won “Best Value for Money” along with the “Best Cruise Ship Bar” forthe Red Frog Pub. And, Royal Caribbean received the coveted “Best for Families,” the fourth straight win in the category by the line. Other wins included; “Best for Dining,” “Best Alternative Restaurant,” and “Best for Wine Lovers,” all carried off by Celebrity Cruises.
