Corbi’s First Romanian Traditions Festival Calling

A little village in Argeș county – Corbi – will host Sunday, April 29, the first edition of its own Romanian Traditions Festival. The theme in 2012, Be proud of your neighborhood!, reveals a bit about what’s in store.

Aiming to delight guests with traditional dishes carefully selected, the best authentic folk music, original Romanian customs, including pottery and sculpture, the event promises to deliver the most valuable elements of national identity, to promote authentic Romanian traditions and to emphasize the most precious cultural gems Romania has to offer.

The festival consists of music, dance and traditional folk food prepared by skillful teams from various Romanian villages: Corbi, Vladesti, Bradulet, Hartiesti, Musatesti, Mioveni, Mihaesti, Bailesti, Domnesti, Dambovicioara and Stalpeni.

Corbi is a picturesque village situated in the central-northern part of Arges County, on the Doamnei River, 55 km away of the county capital Pitesti. The village can be easily reached by car or by train.

The event is organized by Corbi City Hall in partnership with the local TV and cable provider AKTA. More information about the event on an event Facebook page, promoted by Andrei Bogdan Ciungulete.
