Latvian airline airBaltic has announced having flown 18% more passengers during the first nine months of 2018 than in the same period last year. The airline, which spans a network across Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS, and the Middle East, says it carried some 3.16 million passengers over the period.

For the first nine months of 2018 airBaltic has flown 42,294 flights, with 5,108 flights in September alone. The carrier also announced its 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for the first nine months of 2018, saying it had reached a level of 87%. This means that more than 87 out of every 100 airBaltic flights departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes. In September, punctuality indicator reached 90%.

Earlier this month the airline announced the delivery of another Airbus A2220-300. airBaltic says it plans to have a total of 14 Airbus A220-300 aircraft in its fleet by the end of 2018.
