A Great Idea From Jetsetter

Jetsetter, the exclusive travel community for the discerning traveler, just announced a very cool Bon Voyage travel gift. This coffee table picture book presents the company’s expert journeys in a sort of travel inspirational bible – for the throng of globetrotters anticipating that next adventure abroad. Jetsetter is aiming for even further differentiation.

Jetsetter’s so called Personal Travel Planners, expert travel writers from around the world (excluding me do far) help prepare an adventure evocative picture book of journey specifically tailored to individual “Jetsetters.” The members only travel site affords its members unprecedented vacation offerings, at what amount to exclusive prices – atop superlative credibility factors.

Basically, Jetsetters is the anti-TripAdvisor. This luxury conversational piece is priced at $199 and according to Jetsetter press includes:

  • Your own handy dandy Bon Voyage table top edition – a 12 x 12 picture book designed by Partners & Spade and written by Jetsetter editor Nikki Ridgway. The edition profiles 24 trips planned by Jetsetter’s Personal Travel Planners – with images from art photographers such as Mark Borthwick, Robert Polidori, and Elliot Erwitt.
  • Personal Travel Planning with a Jetsetterand their staff of travel writers. The interaction here includes consultations for the building of a special travel experience. Basically, a one on one travel agent-like interaction except an agent who also happens to be an expert on the region(s) being discussed (or so I assume?) These Jetsetter writers have contributed to such publications as; Conde Nast Traveler, Fodor’s Guidebooks, Travel + Leisure and Vogue.
  • Finally, a Travel journal of memories to insert into the blank pages on the coffee table top “bible” of Jetsetter experiences.

As you can imagine, the Bon Voyage issue may not be for everyone, but as a keepsake and as a conversation item, it is a superlative for the kind of traveler who demands the best. The images above and below are from my personal Jetsetter account. You can see this is a very nice edition, and I can only imagine how cool the additional “memories” pages would make it. Very nice Jetsetter, very nice.

As Conde Naste put it, Jetsetter is “refreshing” – to say the least. Follow Jetsetter’s CEO Drew Patterson on Twitter here. I will be doing a more in depth review of Jetsetter very soon, but so you know, I highly recommend you investigate this service.
