The International Istanbul Tulip Festival is an important symbolic festival, as it signals the start of a news touristic season there. Events scheduled about the city include special presentations at;  Taksim Square, Emirgan Woods, Hidiv Woods, Göztepe Rose Garden, Büyük Çamlıca Woods, Sultanahmet Square, and Gülhane Park.

112 different varieties of tulips were planted across the city in parks, along thoroughfares, in flowerbeds everywhere.
