Coming to the Kremlin Museums April 1st, the exhibition “Jewels Inspired by Nature. Ilgiz F.” will reveal the masterful work of Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, contemporary Russian jeweler. On display will be artworks from the period 1996 until 2016, some of which are world renowned masterpieces.
For those unfamiliar, the amazingly vivid creations of Ilgiz Fazulzyanov are perhaps the closest jewelry art to painting masterpieces ever to come to live. Through the use of “hot enamel”, the artist achieved a complexity and quality of design few have ever duplicated. The pieces on display at the Kremlin rival the finest creations by French Art Nouveau artists, like René Jules Lalique and Georges Fouquet.

Fazulzyanov is one of a few jewelers in the world using various classical techniques of “hot enamel”. Visitors to the Moscow museum exhibition will get a rare opportunity to get acquainted not only Fazulzyanov’s work, but with the exhibition in the Assumption Belfry presenting ladies’ timepieces inspired by nature, as well as the stunning men’s timepiece from “The Horsemen of the Apocalypse” collection. Ilgiz Fazulzyanov told reporters recently of his career and inspiration:
“Art taught me to be concentrated and attentive to details, because the world around us is incredibly rich. We only need a desire to look at it closely. Is there anything more beautiful than nature? At first glance it could seem easy to replicate a flower or a dragonfly. Yet, to make an exact copy and to repeat all the veins on a dragonfly’s wing doesn’t mean to express its nature, flutter, delicacy and grace.”
In 2011 and 2013 Ilgiz Fazulzyanov was honoured with the highest award at the International Jewellery Design Excellence Award Competition in Hong Kong for the pendant “Bullfinches” and later for the set of earrings and ring “Butterflies”.
