According to Nahid Bagirov, head of AzTa, the new application will support all mobile platforms in support of many languages.  Bagirov went on to say; Baku Guide Service, which has given recently the first 17 certificates to specially-trained guides, is taking further measures on the improvement of the quality of guide services.

Guides can receive special training courses free of charge. Part of the reason for the overall initiative is to help employ those people capable of speaking foreign languages.

Just recently the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) held a special meeting with representatives of tourism companies and hotels, in order to discuss the pressing problems the country is having over hotel occupancy. Disagreements with tour companies and direct selling of rooms has caused a rift in the industry there. In that meeting Mr. Bagirov compelled hotels and tour operators to cooperate in order to attract and serve guests.
