Yapta Releases Airfare Tracker API

Yapta.com has released a beta version of the API for its suite of traveler tools in hopes that bloggers, travel sites, travel agencies, and others will embed the tools in their sites. The current Yapta APIs are available to developers who register and request an API key.

The API uses a price-tracking system to give users access to price checks for travel services, such as flights and hotels.  The API will give access to both large and small travel agencies and websites, allowing them to offer Yapta services through an integrated interface within their own sites. Furthermore, Yapta is hoping developers will take the API to other platforms, such as desktop and mobile device applications.

“Our APIs are built on Yapta’s proprietary and patent-pending price tracking system and technology – this dynamic, distributed and multi-source price-tracking system provides a high frequency, high precision and high reliability platform for monitoring air and hotel price fluctuations.”

The API makes use of JSON (Javascript Object Notation), described as a “lightweight data-interchange format”. For more information about the API and gaining access to the code, read the yapta.com developer frequently asked questions (FAQ).

Yapta.com is a website that specializes in getting users the best price on air flights and hotel rooms, providing tools to help them get the most for their money when traveling.  It does this by tracking the frequent price changes of both industries.
