A travel booking company, Wheel the World, is assisting travelers with disabilities using an innovative Accessibility Mapping System (AMS) that crowdsources the travel experience. The innovative company created as a true all-inclusive idea, keeps pushing the limits of accessibility to dreams.

According to the news, Wheel the World uses data to aggregates a host of experience, and then presents them to users via a no-nonsense user interface. In short, AMS matches travel experiences compatible with users’ unique travel aspirations and accessibility needs.

The AMS system records in real time information on more than 200 data points, such as wheelchair accessibility, inclusive staff training, transportation logistics, braille signage availability, ramp access, adaptive equipment requirements, bed height, room measurements and more.

Then, from these data points, Wheel the World logged almost 1,000 up-to-date accessibility listings with the help of over 200 mappers for 125 destinations across 27 countries.

For suppliers, hotel and rental properties, tour operators and attractions can submit their accessibility information via the website or mobile app to become Wheel the World Certified Partners

The company says its database is the most comprehensive of its kind, that allows mappers around the world continue to collect and submit accessible travel information via AMS. The company aims to connect the more than one billion people with disabilities around the world with unforgettable travel experiences.

The accessibility Mapping System was a finalist for the 2022 South by Southwest Innovation Awards, and the company was named one of the most innovative in travel in 2022 by Fast Company.

What Wheel the World has done is to create one of the most meaningful travel offers in the world, and for people who might otherwise realize their travel dreams. The company offers amazing tours and packages here in Greece.
