Vote for Airbnb’s best hosts led by VanGos Tsourlakis

Everybody knows about Airbnb by now. What started as a vacation rental website like 1000 others, has now taken the hospitality world by storm. The world’s leading vacation stay booking destination is now paying tribute to the hosts that make guests’ holidays special. Join me in celebrating my friend VanGos Tsourlakis today, by voting for he and others for Airbnb’s Host Awards.

One of the best things about running a media outlet is that, every once in a while an editor gets to talk about something of personal interest. Our journeys across the magical island of Crete carried us to the doorstep of VanGos earlier this year. Crete, as a whole, being the most marvelous destination my family and I have ever visited, was accentuated even more so by the hospitality of this gentle man. I’ve shared half a dozen articles about the web with readers, stories telling of VanGos’ majestic Grotto Homes south of Rethymno. But this story is not about a magnificent villa stay, nor is it about the Cretan landscape, it’s about giving back, saying thanks to extraordinary people.

It’s a bit ironic that through Airbnb we met not only VanGos, but also our own hosts at Metochi Villas west of Chania, not to mention several other property owners we’ve come to know. You see, Airbnb, if the business did not want to be a booking service, could as easily become the finest travel newtworking entity on Earth. Enough about Airbnb though, they’ve made their millions showing value. VanGos Tsourlakis, on the other hand, he’s just one of those people who absolutely deserves a big mention.

If Airbnb, or anybody, is recognizing fabulous hosts, then VanGos (Evan) should wear some sort of crown among them. So, for once in a long, long while, I’m asking all my readers to take something on faith, on my word, to heap praise on a generous, kind, and extraordinarily talented man. Vote for VanGos via the link up top, or by clicking any of the images.

Thank you for believing in hospitality greatness, it really is out there you know…….
