First time guests who engage with these Clifton Hotels will notice the uniqueness of this hospitality offering, in more ways than one. As a reviewer of all things digital, my first impression was a lasting one. Embattled as the industry is getting in between third party distribution dealings and the lonely innkeeper out there in the wilds, it’s impossible not to note Clifton’s appeal. The hotels state bluntly:

“…By booking directly through us you are not only guaranteed to get our best rate but also a personalized reservation specifically tailored to meet your every need. Aiming to meet your individual budget and personality we have plenty to offer as well as many perks for our returning guests with loyalty schemes, monthly newsletters and more.”

I don’t know about you, but I admire an independent that dumps the TripAdvisor spyglasses, sinks their own money into engaging via social channels, and proudly offers up value the old fashioned way too. Clifton’s one of those rare examples of an independent chain making its way without forking over 30% of the gross to a middleman. Look at the Twitter engagement below. While Clifton may not have 5000 followers, the ones engaged are in a conversation.

900 followers actually following are better than 10,000 on paper

Okay, so much for this Bristol hotel chain and independence, how about your Valentine’s deal? How about this, Valentine’s Day in Bristol including:

  • The Berkeley Square – The Berkeley Square is situated in the heart of Bristol, at the top of Park Street and a short walk from The Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol Zoo. Make this Valentines Day extra special and stay in our 4* hotel for the night and enjoy a luxurious 5 course meal at our 2 AA Rosette awarded restaurant; The Square Club. Bed, Breakfast and 5 course meal from £94.00 per person.
  • The Clifton Hotel – The Clifton Hotel also offers a fantastic Valentines Day treat in Bristol; situated opposite the Lido Spaand a short walk from the Bristol Hippodrome Theatre why not treat your special someone to a 3 course meal at Racks Bar & Kitchen; a fantastic venue with great food and atmosphere. Bed, Breakfast and 3 course meal from £61.50.

Just stay in your room, eh?

The Berkeley Square hotel is smack in the middle of a green setting, Brandon Hill Park a football kick away, and College Green and the Bristol Cathedral moments down the street. Take your Bristol romantic getaway indoors, dining at the hotels superb restaurant, or venture out to see one of England’s most picturesque cities.

Then there’s the Clifton (see cafe top), another central Bristol boutique set amid all that is lively in town. A stone’s throw from everything too, this charming hotel offers four star hospitality at a two star price. If “individuality” is the motto of Clifton Hotels, then this little masonry edifice in central Bristol offers a respite in the busiest part of town.

Taking your Valentine out on the town, or just enjoying each other’s company, this is a nice place to call home February 14th. While in town be sure and see; the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, At Bristol, the Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Zoo Gardens, the SS Britain, and especially the Clifton Suspension Bridge (image top) for that romantic photo op.
