Valamar Riviera to Open Two Luxury Resorts in Rabac

Once a small fishing port,  today Rabac is a well-known seaside resort in Croatia.  Over 1,100 workers, as well as 150 engineers, architects, and designers, are currently working in Rabac to meet an important deadline: the grand opening of two luxury resorts in early June: Family Life Bellevue Resort 4 * and Valamar Girandella Resort 4 * / 5 *.

“This major investment project has a crucial importance for the long-term positioning of Rabac as a prestigious tourist destination, but also the overall development of this part of Istrial,” said Tulio Demetlika, mayor of Labin.

According to Željko Kukurin, CEO of Valamar Riviera, this is the largest tourism project in Croatia, and the company’s most ambitious construction site to date. Together, the two luxury resorts will boast 764 rooms and more than 2,700 beds. The resorts cater mainly to leisure tourists, offering a wide choice of activities and facilities withing a complex with 15 buildings, 9 themed restaurants, and 13 swimming pools, as well as playgrounds for children, 2 fun centers, and indoor and outdoor fitness and wellness. The investment also includes landscaping and beach promenade. The construction site spreads over more than 15 hectares.

The total value of the investment was assessed at 562 million kuna. The opening of the two resorts will also result in the creation of over 500 new jobs in Rabac, as they will employ more than 620 hospitality pros. The company is currently recruiting staff for its two resorts. The project to build Family Life Bellevue Resort and Valamar Girandella Resort was developed in collaboration with TUI and Rewe Group. The partners expect to attract over 100,000 guests over the next couple of years to Rabac, who will also help boost the local economy and promote tourism to Istria.

Rabac, the pearl of the Kvarner Bay, is also interesting for proximity to destinations like Venice, Dubrovnik and Krka – with cruise trips operating daily. Fishing tours and other recreational activities further recommend the resort.
