Vacation home rental innovators, VacationRoost, launched their new website today. The new rental portal features some 150,000 plus managed vacation rentals from North America, to Mexico and the Caribbean, and beyond. Argo takes a look at the new site, and at least one deal for a great summer vacation; “Barbados anyone?”
The revamping of their website, according to VacationRoost’s VP of Marketing, Maile Keone, was a much needed update given the growth and expanded presence of the company. Keone also suggested the new site would better “demonstrate their white label reservations platform and travel agent offerings.” VacationRoost CEO Julian Castelli had this to add:
“These are exciting times in the vacation rental space. One of our partners, HomeAway, has filed to go public and is creating a lot of excitement in the industry. We want to ensure our website properly reflects the unique value we offer to the consumer.”
VacationRoost offers a vast array of properties where agents and other business partners can take advantage of vacation rental commissions. Their so called “white label reservations program” allows resorts and destination marketing companies great flexability and added inventory it appears. The new portal also ads to user engagement so that the core business of VacationRoost, vacation properties and travel packages, can be better integrated and planned. VacationRoost also offers innovative customer support options for the industry.
Argo Mini Review
As per usual, new site launches on Argo Travel News get a bit of a test drive. The VacationRoosts site, I must say, offers great user experience and practical ease of use. Navigation is easy, and filtering in or out the types of rentals you do or don’t want is near perfect. For this test, I wanted to find a property with a large number of bedrooms (I will explain), a private pool, and a home rather than a condo. As you can see by the images above and below, VacatonRoost came through. By filtering via images, prices, bedrooms, location, and etc. I found the Barbados home below. Now the reader might be saying; “How is $500 a night a bargain?”
By way of a tip for your next vacation (in case you did not think), couples and families looking for beach bliss have always chosen vacation homes in preference to hotels etc. One big reason for this is value. The Barbados home above sleeps 8. Now let’s just be frugal here and divide that $500 per night cost by 4 couples. Okay, still $125 a night, may sound high, but the gated Sugar Hill resort community on the leeward side of Barbados is perfect for the newcomer to the Island. Shopping and gallivanting in nearby Holetown – well, this is about as picturesque and Caribbean as it gets. Add in more privacy, fitness center, tennis center, beach club, satellite TV, babysitting – a whole house? Come on.
