For visitors planning a trip anywhere near Mogilev, Belarus, the upcoming collaboration between Mogilev Regional Puppet Theater and Smolensk Regional Puppet Theater should be of great interest. According to news from the city, the tow theaters are to exchange tours. Accordingly, the Smolensk theater’s upcoming play Jumping Princess will entertain Mogilev fans, while the latter theater will perform Zuza Bee in reprisal.

According to the news from BelTA, Tatyana Glushakova, of the Mogilev theater, had this to say about the coming plays:
“It is the first time we will exchange tours with our Smolensk partners. We hope that these contacts will turn into regular cooperation. We would be happy to cooperate with one of the oldest puppet theaters of Russia that has staged more than 300 performances for children and adults over the 75 years since it was established. This cooperation will provide us with valuable experience. Representatives of our theater have already been to Smolensk to meet the theatrical company and familiarize themselves with their repertoire. We have recently welcomed our Russian guests here, too.”
In other news from Mogilev the city is to have its own orchestras, better enabling the city to tour and spread the cultural wealth of the region. Also, work is set to resume on famous Russian artist Nikolai Nevrev’s Museum at Lyskovshchina. The deceased artists home will become an archive of his treasured works, many of which still reside in Moscow.
For those unfamiliar, Mogilev is a city in eastern Belarus founded in 1267. The city is one of Belarus’ main economic centers, as well as a cultural hub.
