Tune Hotels Touches Down in Bangkok, Thailand

Following on from the runaway success of its Pattaya and Hat Yai properties, Tune Hotels has announced the grand opening of its third hotel in Thailand, and its first in the capital city Bangkok, on October 1, 2012.

For those who don’t know, Tune Hotels is a part of the Tune Group, a Malaysian-owned enterprise that also counts the hugely popular budget airline Air Asia under its umbrella of companies. Using the same model that propelled the low-cost carrier to global success, Tune Hotels operates a unique ‘pay-as-you-use’ policy, in which hotel guests pay a basic flat rate for their room, plus additional charges for each service they deem necessary – avoiding the expense of paying for those that they don’t require.

The opening of Tune Hotel Asoke is being viewed as a landmark achievement by group CEO Mark Lankester, in light of Tune Hotel’s determination to become a recognizable, reputable player in what is Southeast Asia’s biggest tourism destination.

“Tune Hotel Asoke is very important to us as it marks our presence in Bangkok, one of the world’s most visited cities. With thousands of home-grown and international hotel brands spread across the city, it’s everyone’s dream to be part of Bangkok’s thriving tourism industry. With Tune Hotels’ innovative concept and highly competitive pricing, we are confident of providing visitors to Bangkok a world-class accommodation that offers great value and great savings,” explained Lankester in a statement.

Tune Hotel Asoke is ideally located to do just that, being close to the popular Sukhmuvit Road, a favorite tourist hotspot filled with shopping attractions, restaurants, travel agencies and bars. In addition, Sukhumvit Road is one of Bangkok’s major traffic arteries, serviced by the elevated BTS Skytrain, and home to the headquarters of dozens of international corporations, making it an ideal base for business travelers.

Of the 130 rooms available in Tune Hotel Asoke, guests can choose from double, twin sharing and disabled accommodations, with services such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, toiletries and others available only if guests decide they want to pay for them – options that are sure to make it a uniquely attractive proposition for hundreds of visitors to the city.

As with all Tune Hotel grand openings, Tune Hotel Asoke is now offering a super-discounted price, with bookings available from as little as 100 THB (US$3) per night for stays throughout the period October 1, 2012, until May 31, 2013. This offer is available right now on Tune Hotels’ website, with rooms available on a first come, first served basis.

Those who miss out on this fantastic offer need not worry, for Tune Hotels are planning further entries into the Thai market, with the tourist resort island of Phuket in Thailand’s south next on the list.
