TUI Russia to Start Tours in Altai Krai

TUI and the regional administration of Altai Krae have signed agreements for open cooperation in developing domestic tourism in the Siberian region. According to the news from the regional capital of Barnaul, TUI is to participate in the development of tourism infrastructure.

The parties signed an agreement of intent, with TUI intent on helping build tourism facilities also. General Director of the Taras Demura had meetings with Governor Alexander Karlini, who had this to add:

“Increasing tourist arrivals without the development of tourist infrastructure and placements will inevitably lead to the deterioration of service quality and loss of competitive advantage that we have. I don’t want to say that we are in all segments of the tourism industry has provided the European level of quality. But we already have a lot of players on the market that this level is already able to offer and provide.”

One of Russia’s most remote and pristine regions, Altai Krai is important because of its biodiversity, an area of this part of Siberia, part of over 1.6 million hectares, is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The climate of the region is extremely  severe with long cold dry winters and hot dry summers. The Ob River and the Katun, as well as Lake Kulundinskoye are significant features, as are the mountainous regions of the east. Since 2015 “TUI Russia” in 2015  entered the domestic tourist market of Russia.
