Travel to Africa with The Far Horizons

Re-launched today, with more modern look and feel, the website of The Far Horizons invites travelers in a virtual journey through Africa. Redesigned by London’s Cyber Duck, the website allows users to take an in-depth look at a variety of up-market tours in Uganda and Rwanda, including their route and a detailed description of the activities on each day.

Founders Patrick and Victoria Shah, who live and work in Africa, wanted to create something visually stunning which might start to show what the visitor could expect from embarking on one of their luxury safari tours. The result is what you see below (click on the image to see the site):

While not a trends breaker, and still presenting a few technical issues (like slow loading times) the new site is definitely an improvement, compared to the company’s former online presence. The message is :

The Far Horizon website, before the Cyber Duck redesign.

Perhaps the most important aspect for potential customers of The Far Horizons, is that the business is run by African natives, from Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, who believe in their work and native continent so much as to refer to it as “our Africa.” Natives are always the best guides for a trip to a mysterious, and exotic place such as this.

So far, the company has rather strong competitors, including: Kenian Africa Point, London’s Africa Travel, and Africa Stay, all with online presences far more visible than The Far Horizons. The company still has to plan an online marketing strategy including SEO, PR and social media outreach to be able to compete with the big guys. With such a beautiful site, it would be a pity to remain virtually invisible online. We hope that the launch of a better designed site is just the beginning, and we are looking forward for other news from the company.
