The Best Greek Tweets of 2019

Tweets from Greece are so often amazing, we thought we should share this part of the journey. After all, this is what Argo stands for, and for the love.

The location above is at Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea. This paradise is defined by rugged mountains and a resort-studded shoreline where you’ll find celebrities mingling with the rest of the suntanned set. Corfu has a Greeka average 4.8/5 based on 252 ratings out of 252 reviews

Thassos Island depicted in the Tweet above is the northernmost island of the Aegean Sea. Thassos Greece makes a great destination for family holidays and relaxing vacations. The island has a Greeka score of 4.6/5 based on 52 ratings out of 52 reviews.

Kerkyra, or the Town of Corfu, is one of the most beautiful and elegant towns in Greece. The capital of the island of the same name has unique architecture strongly influenced by the different civilizations which dominated the island. The most notable are the Sicilian, the Venetian, the French and the English tones that add a strong accent to an otherwise gorgeous location.

Milos Island has a Greeka average 4.8/5 based on 154 ratings out of 154 reviews. This lesser-known volcanic island is just a two-hour ferry ride from Santorini and a 40-minute flight from Athens. As you can see from the Tweet above, it is one of the most peaceful places on Earth, not to mention a quintessential Greek experience.

Melissani Cave is a unique geological phenomenon, a subterranean lake that was once a place of worship dedicated to Pan and Nymph Melissani. Words cannot make it more beautiful and enchanting, just look.

Kefalonia has an average 4.9/5 based on 387 ratings out of 387 reviews at Greeka. The reason it so highly rated that it is right out of a storybook with imagery so vivid myths of Poseidon’s son Thapius ruling the beautiful kingdom, and of smaller gods at play on the idyllic island.

Crete, the birthplace of mighty Zeus and of untold legends and myths, plays on the mind and with the light in images like the one above. Nowhere else on Earth is there so much history and tradition layered on top of majestic landscapes.

Plaka, one of our favorite places in Athens, it’s picturesque to a flaw almost. Considered touristy by the locals, there is a good reason why it’s so popular. The Tweet above hints at this reason. Can you guess?

On Crete, it’s as if everything and everybody is in love with travelers from afar. In every town, at every beach, and roaming every hamlet there are amazing animals who mirror the kindness of the Cretans themselves. I am not sure if this is Natali’s dog or one that lives at the seaside here on the island. Maybe she will let us know.
