The Municipality of Ierapetra, the Regional Unit of Lasithi, and the Region of Crete launched the 4th Annual Ierapetra Tourism Festival on Saturday the 27th of July. The seasonal event will last until World Tourism Day, September 27th. The festival will feature art exhibitions and other events intended to promote year-round sustainable tourism in the region.

This Ierapetra Festival of Tourism is now an established annual tradition from the Municipality of Ierapetra aimed at enhancing regional and local tourism. This year, as in the past, the focus will be on local artists and on repeat tourists who have spread the good word of the touristic value of Lassithi and Crete overall.

There will be many art exhibitions, as well as music, dance, and other festivities planned for the 2019 festival. Other events include performances in the central square, ceramic workshops for adults and kids, and even a philosophical workshop for kids.

The festival will culminate in a finale of events to coincide with World Tourism Day 2019.
