The New Year is here and Festive Tambov presents a multitude of entertainment events to add to visitor’s agendas. One of the most anticipated events of the vacation calendar is the first ever astro-festival “A Christmas tale”, according to the festival organizers. Also, the Ice Palace of Sports will feature “Crystal”, where 28 representatives of the gastronomy industry from the region will be present.
The festival participants will compete to prepare the most delicious meals in an event entitled; “Porridge for Santa Claus”. At the same time will open the exhibition and tasting a variety of dishes – both traditional and outlandish. The Tambov Fest will tantalize guests with split pigs, pheasant, Brawn, hot pancakes, pretzels, cheeses and sausages, and much more.
All Russia has selected the Tambov Wolf as the official symbol of the forthcoming New Year celebrations, and the city is the 2017 New Year capital of Russia. Preparations for the New Year in Tambov began back on Dec. 10 with the unveiling of a five-metre tall ice statue of a wolf in front of the Kristall Sports Palace.
The “Porridge for Santa Claus” contest will introduce unique recipes from 8 territories. The administration of the Tambov region and Vice-President of the National Association of keepers of the gastronomic heritage and tourism, “the center” Oleg Alekseev (Moscow) will be on hand too. Participants will also win personal diplomas, and the winner of the porridge competition will recvieve a medal and a diploma.
