If you’re looking for somewhere to cool off this summer then you could do a whole lot worse than head on up to the Crystal Mountain Ski Resort near Seattle in Washington State for some summer skiing.

The resort yesterday announced an action-packed summer program, while revealing that due to the addition of the Mount Rainier Gondola, they will remain fully operational throughout the summer for the first time ever.

A whole host of family-friendly events will be on offer this summer, beginning with next weekend’s Summer Kick-Off Party on the weekend of June 25-26, where visitors can enjoy good food and drinks and a range of activities, from live music to gondola rides and more.

The following month, July, sees a non-stop program of events, starting with the Outdoor Rock ‘n’ Roll Party on July 9, followed by the hugely popular Mount Rainier Wine and Jazz Music Festival –  both taking place at the Alpine Inn. The wine festivale includes 8 tastings and a free commemorative glass, costing just $25 per person. Guests will be able to sample various great-tasting wines from over a dozen local wineries, together with various other activities all played to the tune of live music from top local bands.

Just one day later, on June 17, Crystal Mountain Resort plays host to the spectacular Summit Planet Triathlon – feel free to join in the action or simply relax and watch as amateur triathletes, skiers and downhill adventure enthusiasts from all over the region battle it out for the title.

The summer action continues with the Fall Line Winemakers Dinner on July 29, beers sampling at the Brewfest and Live Music festival on August 6 and the Persied Meteor Shower Dinner on August 13, before the final event of the summer – the Mountain High Disc Golf Tournament on August 27-28, a must-do event for any self-respecting golfer looking to show off their swing!

And don’t forget, keeping in with their family-friendly spirit, a trip to Crystal Mountain Resort is one place you can go without leaving your four-legged friends behind – Crystal Mountain Resort is a dog friendly destination; you can even take Fido up to the summit of Mount Rainier itself if you want too!
