A Swiss Alternative – Ski Stowe in Vermont

Can’t fly the pond to enjoy Switzerland this year? Not even the great value of the Carpathians, or perhaps the Caucasus? Well, for those in search of a ski deal in the Northeast of the good ole USA, Stowe, Vermont has made the best of this blizzard season. For ski enthusiasts in the East, getting to Colorado for a weekend can be a test, Vermont this year has been an extraordinary alternative. Be sure and check out the deal below.

The Spa at Top Notch Resort & Spa

It’s no big secret that the tiny town of Stowe’s entire economy is based on tourism. And what better place is there to take time away than a place dedicated to making your stay memorable? Yeah, skiing and snowboarding in Winter, or hiking and camping in Spring and Summer, Stowe is a dedicated fun seekers paradise. Mount Mansfield (below showing stone cabin), Vermont’s highest mountain, offers Winter sports adventure for visitors of any experience level, expert to novice. Where should you look for the best deals in Stowe?

The GoStowe guide site lends a hand to Google surfers wanting more info on this great ski Mecca. Using that site, would be weekend skiers can save a bit above 35% and sometimes more. The Stowe Mountain Resort site does the skiing and snowboarding thing up right too, all be it in a lot more image and video-centric way. The image below from Dave Schmidt Photography shows a bit of this, we love sites that show travelers where they are headed (why to go actually).

Stowe offers a package from Inn at the Mountain that seems a fantastic deal. Two nights at the Inn at the Mountain, two days lift tickets (right in the Inn’s back yard), a gift basket, and 40 percent off on the “Sweetheart” package. Interestingly, the Inn is the only place in Stowe that has a double chair lift out back.

Topnotch Resort & Spa pool

By far the most luxurious, and for the money – value packed Stowe experience, Topnotch Resort & Spa (spa image top)  is all into pampering guest on and off the slopes.  For instance, four people can book a two bedroom resort home at Topnotch, replete with just about every amenity one can imagine, for about $3300 for a week. This may sound like a lot until all things are considered (see pool above).

We leave you with maybe the best deal going at Stowe this year, the packages offered by Stowe Mountain Lodge. If a “home away from home” all-be-it a luxurious and carefree one, is your cup of tea – the lodge is the place to stay in Stowe. Just a look at the images we provide reveals much of the lodge’s charm and value. Staying at a guest suite in the lodge, enjoying all the rustic beauty and almost cliche “wintriness” of the place, two guests can have a memorable weekend for about $2,000. But wait.

For those who use the services of one of our reviewed ski booking engines SnowTrax, guests can get up to 45 % off the lodge and other resort accommodations.  And so you know, in the future we will respond to help requests via tools we are developing here where the best, most value packed, and affordable packages are concerned. Stay tuned.
