Travel Trends 2013: Sharm El Sheikh, More Popular than Ever

Four and five-star hotels in Sharm El Sheikh were more popular than ever in 2012, improving their occupancy rates by 16.3% to 79.4% in October. According to Cosmos Holidays, the destination has been gaining in popularity with international visitors for quite some time, not only during special events, but as a year round destination.

Sharm El Sheikh could easily become one of the trendiest destinations of 2013, and that would make a great boost for this stunning place. The city offers a wealth of vacation opportunities, with active travel choices for adrenaline junkies; breathtaking oasis resorts for those seeking a place for romance; and enough to do for families with kids.

A mix of traditional and modern, and ideally located on the edge of the Red Sea, this charming city is exotic and fascinating. It’s favored by those looking for the authentic tastes of Egypt, as an alternative to more buzzing destinations, like Cairo. Active travelers enjoy underwater adventures at the Red Sea Coral Reef; diving and snorkeling; fishing and boating; and a number of other water sports. On land, there’s always the experience of the authentic Egyptian desert, with excursions to the Sinai Desert from the city, where adrenaline junkies can quad bike through the breathtaking landscape for added thrills.

Cosmos Holidays have a few fabulous deals for travelers to Sharm El Sheikh, with packages starting at as low as £273 per person on January 13. Prices tend to get higher in the following months, culminating at £395 in May.
