September 20th the World Goes on Climate Strike to Save Our Planet

Via Climate Strike and 150 Org

September 20th through 27th, millions of people concerned about the massive effects of climate change will walk out of workplaces and homes to join a worldwide climate strike. Strikers will take to the streets to demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. Their message is a powerful one. It is a message everyone on our world needs to hear and understand. We cannot go forward as we have been. This is abundantly clear.

Global Climate Strike is ground zero to hundreds of groups with one message – “Our house is on fire — let’s act like it.” We became aware through monitoring of Cousteau Divers, and their efforts to save the planet through science and information.

People interested in taking part or in organizing their own strikes can find invaluable advice and information at the website here. Twitter and Facebook are already alive with posts and tweets about local and international events/strikes. A few of these efforts are scattered within our announcement here.

American school kids are planning massive school skipping events associated with #ClimateStrike. The groundswell of concerned youth is uplifting if I am honest here. Kids around the world now heed a call that is long overdue. Governments and our leadership have paid little or no heed to warnings from an “A list” of experts who now say the human effects on our planet may soon be irreversible.

I plead with all of those who read Argophilia to open your minds and hearts to the efforts by caring people to save our world. Efforts like Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green, reflect the goodness that resides in all of us. The legacy of people like legendary astrophysicist Carl Sagan, the undersea hero Jacques Cousteau, and many others should be the preservation of life here.

Please remember, you are never too small to make a difference. Join us in applauding and supporting these young people who have stepped forward to lead instead of blindly following.

Do what you can. Act according to your heart and your intellect, on behalf of your human legacy. Visit 350 Org on Facebook to find out even more and how to interact with #ClimateStrike
