Accordingly, the Croatian Tourism Association will divvy up 50 percent of the sum, while local authorities are to throw in the remaining funds needed to set up the hub. With this addition, the 9 cities already served by Ryanair will be joined by Beauvais, Dublin, East Midlands, Gothenburg, Haugesund, Liverpool and Wroclaw. This will be Ryanair’s first base in the former Yugoslavia.

Local staff, the addition of ten more pilots, and the suggested influx of tourists all add up to a “win win” for Ryanair and Croatia. Zadar was selected because of the airport’s stellar performance among other Croatian destinations. More than 300,000 passengers arrived at Zadar in the last year.
