Ryanair to Launch 21 New Greece Routes for 2019

Low-cost carrier Ryanair on Wednesday announced the launch of 21 new routes connecting Greece and popular international destinations for summer 2019.

Ryanair’s 2019 Greek Summer schedule will include a total of 124 routes including five new routes from Athens to Catania (two weekly flights), Eindhoven (three weekly), London Luton (daily), Marrakesh (two weekly) and Palermo (two weekly).  Ryanair CCO David O’Brien offered this: 

We are pleased to launch our 2019 Greek summer schedule, which will deliver 6.1 million customers per annum through nine Greek airports and support over 4,500 ancillary jobs in Greece.”

The Athens summer schedule of 32 routes is expected to transfer some 2.4 million fliers a year, and to sustain more than 1,800 jobs, according to Ryanair. 

The airline also announced the Thessaloniki link with Dublin (twice-weekly flights), Lappeenranta (once per week), Malta (two weekly) and Manchester (twice per week). According to the air carrier, the Thessaloniki link will fly 1.55 million customers per annum and sustain 1,160 on-site jobs.

Other linkages announced by Ryanair include a Corfu – London Southend connect, one between Bologna and Liverpool; Mykonos with Bordeaux and Paphos; Heraklion on Crete with Milan; Rhodes with Rhome and Naples; Chania with Bucharest, Sofia, and Naples.

The company rounded out its announcement with a seat sale on routes from Greece available from 14.99 euros, for travel from October to December, which must be booked by Friday, October 12, at midnight on the company’s website.
