Russian Rope Jumpers Set Record

If wacky events are your thing you just missed one in the Russian Federation. One hundred thirty five people leaped into the record books “rope jumping” from a bridge outside the city of Tver.

We are not talking about bungee jumping here, rope jumping is far more dangerous and technically difficult. The “rope” in rope jumping, you see, does not have any elasticity as in bugee jumping. Imagine 130 people trying to synchronize their jump so as to provide the necessary arc to cushion their fall, rather than relying on the spring action of rubber band like bungee.

The previous record was held by a hundred Muscovites who jumped from the bridge. The event, better described in the video from RT.com below, is one of those once in a lifetime events.
