Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg

As of October 21st Hotel services inside Russia must conform to new governmental rules meant to regulate the industry. The Ministry for Culture of Russia reported on these new legislation that will bind hotels and other hospitality providers aimed at previously unregulated discrepancies.

Issues such a booking guarantees are addressed by creating definitions and notifications for guests to determine if their stays are “guaranteed” or fall under a “non-guaranteed” category.  The guaranteed booking implies that the hotel keeps the room for the guest starting the check-in time, until checkout of the following day. Non-guaranteed bookings need only be kept until a time a set by the individual hotelier. Under the new rules there’s also a new definition of check-out time, as regulations stipulated what services each hotel lists for guests, both on the Internet and in the reception area of the accommodation.

New or amended regulations for documents required from the guest, 24 hour services being mandatory for larger properties, and other implied rules now become mandatory.
