Destination Montenegro: River Rafting on the Tara

Eastern Europe has many destinations that can be as exciting, and as exotic, as any, if not more. For adventure travelers, one of the main reasons to visit Montenegro is the Tara river, which offers rafting opportunities for all skill levels, for the entire family. There are a few agencies that offer river rafting tours – for experienced rafters, Argophilia recommends one with a memorable name: Tara Tour.

Tara Tours offers numerous rafting programs, including rafting on the most beautiful and attractive 18 kilometres of the Tara, from Brštenovica to Šćepan Polje. This part of the river features over twenty rapids, and it is one of the most exciting for advanced rafters.

The two-day rafting program includes everything you need for the experience of a lifetime: breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as short breaks for rest, swimming, taking photos - all in addition to exciting rafting from Šljivansko to Radovan Luka and Šćepan Polje.

The weekend tours take you rafting on the most exciting part of the river (Brštanovica-Šćepan Polje) which has 23 out of 50 rapids of the Tara.

In addition to rafting tours, Tara Tour offers jeep safaris to the National Park “Durmitor.” Another ideal occasion for tourists to enjoy Montenegro’s glorious nature.

All images featured in this article are real life experiences by customers of Tara Tour – and nothing speaks better of what awaits on the Tara than these instances, captured by amateur photographers.

Tara Tour is located in Montenegro’s Plužine. Travelers interested in booking a tour with this agency, may contact Tara Tour at +382 69 08 61 06, or via e-mail at taratour@cg.yu.
