Resonate 2016 Hits Belgrade April 12

Coming up from April 12-16 Belgrade’s Resonate Festival 2016 brings its fifth installment of avant-garde electonic music and events to Serbia’s capital.

As was the case previously, festival attendees will get the best DJ performances and cutting edge electronic music at Resonate 2106, but this year the focus is much more on cultural aspects. Various venues around Belgrade will offer presentations from; the Ilija M. Korarac Endowment, Dom Omladine, the Parabrod cultural centre and the Yugoslav Film Archive. This year the festival has 45 lectures, 27 workshops, and 21 performances to entertain and educate audiences.

What makes Resonate so unique among the myriad music festivals in Europe, is the pairing of a tech programme  with a full-blown music festival. The concept of Resonate 2016 is electronic music intertwined with emerging technologies. Also, according to Resonate 2016 Communication Director, Barbara Garcevic, “The music programme and arts presentations complement the technology workshops in a unique way.” Performers this year include; Jackie Dagger, Omar Souleyman, Dadub, Ali Guney, and many more.

Supported by the “We Are Europe” association, Resonate is not just a techno-music affair, but a cultural tradition and innovation meetup. Through Resonate Live, the music component, technology and musical identity are melded into an overall conference innovative spirit. The artists performing at Resonate 2016 will be representative of the same spirit from which the conference’s program is built.

Resonate has become a key European festival where people interested in modern technology, music, and visuals, attend in order to become part of the emerging worldwide digital culture. In this, the conference’s motto; “Bringing together artists and educators to drive a forward-looking debate on the position of technology in art and culture”, is disseminated.
