Prague This Summer: A Festival of Enlightenment

If you are visiting Prague in the next days, there are many events to attend. From festivals of music, art and culture, to LGBT pride parades, the city offers something for everyone. We suggest the most interesting things to do, hand picked by Argophilia Travel News staff.

It started May 30, 2013, and will last to September 20, 2013 – introducing Marilyn, a unique exhibition at the Prague Castle Riding School (U Prašného mostu 3, Praha 1). The exhibition includes 30 pairs of shoes and over 50 outfits from the actress’s wardrobe, and is organized by Prague Castle Administration in collaboration with the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo and Armentano Co.

Planning a day trip from Prague to Hodonín? Take your kids to the Zoo, to see its newest attraction. According to news from the Prague Daily Monitor, the Zoo has recently exchanged other of its animals for a white lion from the Lory Park, South Africa.

Another cool festival for families take place from August 18 to September 3, 2013: the 10th international festival of contemporary circus and theater.

Don’t miss the Prague Pride festival, this year at its 3rd edition. It begun August 12 and will end on Sunday, August 18, 2013. Some important upcoming highlights include the Pride Parade on Saturday, and the #NOH8WORLDIWDE campaign in support of gays and lesbians (LGBT) in the Czech Republic, on Sunday, August 18, at Mamaison Riverside Hotel. Come camera ready, wear white, and make your statement!

Fans of organ music can attend solo organ recitals by leading international and Czech artists, every Thursday at 7 p. m., till September 19, 2013, at St. James´ Basilica in the Old Town, during the 18th International Organ Festival.

Last, but not least, don’t miss the Opera Barocca festival, which takes place at the Clam-Gallas Palace. The box office opens tomorrow, August 15. Tickets are already available online.
