Penang, Malaysia: Armenian Street Heritage Hotel Opens its Doors

Georgetown, the capital of the Island and state of Penang (west coast of peninsular Malaysia), listed by UNESCO in 2008 as a World Heritage Site, together with Melaka, adds as of today a new jewel to its crown: the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel.

Within a minute’s walk from the world famous “Little Children on a Bicycle” mural hand-painted by renowned artist Ernest Zacharevic, Armenian Street Heritage Hotel opened its doors to offer guests the unique experience of the old world charm hospitality.

Serving as an extension of the George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI) office (located right opposite the hotel), the hotel features a viewing deck on the top floor, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery of almost the entire heritage area right up to the coastline of the island.

Managed by international hotel brand Tune Hotels, the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel offers 92 rooms designed for solo travelers, couples and families. Each room features an en-suite bathroom, luggage rack and a working desk. Fitted out in heritage style, the hotel also offers modern amenities including 5-star mattress, television, hot power shower, hair dryer, in-room safe and WiFi connection in all rooms.

Located at 139, Lebuh Carnarvon, just steps away from the heritage trails of museums, temples and eateries, the Armenian Street Heritage Hotel is the perfect choice to enjoy the fourth Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

VMY 2014 is expected to be the biggest ever tourism celebration with hundreds of events and festivals all lined up to welcome the world. Overall, it is hoped that VMY 2014 will contribute to the Government’s target to receive 36 million tourist arrivals and RM168 billion in receipts by 2020.

This is the perfect time to see and feel Malaysia, discover Penang and experience the charm of Armenian St. Heritage Hotel.
