Patsides Grape Festival Returns

The 7th Grape Festival returns to Patsides on August 23, celebrating local and Cretan grape production with live music from Nikos and Antonis Xylouris.

The grape will once again take centre stage in Patsides on Sunday, August 23, as the village hosts the 7th Grape Festival, continuing a local celebration that organisers hope will become a lasting tradition.

The festival is organised by the Patsides Cultural Association, which established the event to highlight grapes and the wider agricultural production of the area and Crete.

Now in its seventh year, the celebration returns in 2026 with music from Nikos and Antonis Xylouris, who will perform during the event.

The organisers have kept the announcement refreshingly simple: grapes, music and a summer celebration in Patsides.

The festival is part of the association’s effort to promote a product closely connected with Crete’s agricultural identity while creating a gathering for residents and visitors during the summer season.

There is, for the moment, no lengthy programme to decipher and no 47-item schedule telling visitors precisely when they should eat, drink, dance and applaud. The announcement simply invites people to join the celebration on Sunday, August 23.

For reservations, the organisers have provided the telephone number 6943 265 307.

After six previous editions, the Grape Festival is now returning for its seventh year, proving that some traditions do not need an elaborate explanation.

Sometimes, you just need grapes, music and a good reason to get together.
