Olympic Holidays to Become Greek Island Hopping Gurus

For vacationers in the UK thinking about Greece for the upcoming 2020 season, Olympic Holidays is all set to launch guided group land tours and new island-hopping excursions to smaller islands like Andros. According to a report by Travel Weekly, the tours will be Olympic’s first guided tour effort, according to the news.

According to Carl Catterall, head of marketing and communications for Olympic, there will also be new island-hopping itineraries to go alongside existing Greek island itineraries, introduced just last year. Cattrall told Travel Weekly at WTM 2019, several smaller islands new for 2020 include Andros, Poros, Spetses, and Karpathos.

The new tours will be appearing in the 2020 brochure and will go live on the website for agents and consumers to book from November 22. Andros and the other destinations have already been added to a new island-hopping website by Olympic Holidays, but site visitors do not yet have the option to book into 2020.

Olympic Holidays won’t have too much competition on Andros and the other islands except for companies offering self-guided hikes, and so forth. For instance, Inntravel offers a nice walking tour of Andros and other Cyclades islands. Explore Travel also offers great tours once travelers arrive in Athens, and so do many other companies. Few, however, offer end to end guided experiences to these smaller islands. Clare Tobin, Olympic Holidays CEO, told Travel Weekly she aims to make her company into the island hopping specialists.

To be honest, I’ll admit surprise on my part that there are not more companies offering travelers options to amazing destinations like Andros and the other Cyclades. Not even Percy Jackson offers such trips. So, it looks like Olympic Holidays is onto something for UK travelers who prefer one-stop Greek isle experience shopping.
