Goodies Galore! Carlo’s Bake Shop opens on Norwegian Cruise ship “Breakaway”.
Master Baker Buddy Valastro, renown baker and television baking star, will open a new branch of his family business on the 8th deck of the Norwegian cruise ship “Breakaway” when it reaches New York in May this year. All of Buddy’s repertoire of decadent delights will be available to customers, as well as for custom orders too. And, a neat surprise will be Carlo’s offering passengers cupcake decorating classes.

Items that are certain to be on the menu include; freshly baked cookies, cakes and pies, Buddy’s famed dark chocolate Oreo mousse and Purple Groovy Fondant cakes, Italian butter cookies, biscottis, and his collection of cupcakes as well. The extent of the delicious menu even extends to the realms of chocolate and vanilla cannolis, cream filled lobster tails, and assorted pies.
Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer, added his take on the news;
“The New York area is known for its outstanding bakeries, as with all features of this new incredible ship, we wanted to bring not just a taste of the region to our guests, but the very best out there. Buddy is known as the ultimate baker, so we knew he was the best choice for our new bakery on Norwegian Breakaway. We are thrilled to welcome Buddy to the Norwegian family.”
Breakaway Haven Courtyard
The Norwegian Breakaway will be sailing for New York in May 2013, stopping along the US coastline before sailing for the Carribean. The ports of call following include; Florida and the Bahamas, as well as; St. Thomas, Barbados, Basseterre, and St. Kitts. The voyage will last 22 weeks with the final stop being Bermuda, where the ship will stay for 3 full days for passengers to explore the restaurants, beaches, and golf courses of the Island.
