NAFI Polls Russians on 2018 Travel

According to research conducted by the analytical center NAFI, every third Russian will travel abroad, and half of Russians will travel in-country in 2018 Also according to the study, Russians traveling abroad are expected to spend about 60 thousand rubles per person, and for internal — about 40 thousand.

Exactly one-third of Russians in the study said they will consider that in the next year to go on vacation abroad (33%). Most of the rest of intent to travel reported by came from residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (52% vs. 24% among rural residents), and young adults 18-34 years (44 to 46% versus 15-35% in the other age groups). The average amount prospective travelers said they’d be willing to pay for a holiday outside Russia (including transport, accommodation, etc.), was 61 130 rubles. Also, every tenth participant in te poll considered thought they would spend no more than 40,000 rubles per person.

Holidays inside Russia were predicted by more than half of Russians (58%), and most of these were residents cities (65%). The average expected expenditure on domestic tourism, given the accommodations, travel, etc., was 40 490 rubles per person. More than a quarter (28%) of Russians expect the trip to inside Russia, and to spend no more than 40 thousand rubles.
