Must See in Prague This Week

Prague, always an important cultural destination, has a wealth of interesting programmes for all ages to offer this week. Here are some of the most interesting to attend.

Don’t miss the Dinosaurium, at the Prague Exhibition Grounds (Výstaviště Praha), which still lasts till Sunday, June 29, 2014. Dinosaurium is the largest traveling exhibition of real dinosaur fossils, and offers something to see and do for visitors of all ages. The exhibits come from Borissiakova Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and were collected and curated by over 200 scientists studying different groups of prehistoric animals and plants. All this unique exhibition is based on scientific research and the actual fossil remains. This is the first exhibition of its kind in the Czech Republic. Some of the exhibits are as old as 300 million years.

Don’t miss the Holešovice Fashion Market this week, an unique event, offering you the opportunity to admire and purchase fashion, jewellery and design by independent artists and local craftsmen. The event is complete with fashion shows, dance performances, and cuisine.

This February 1st, the National Museum opened an exhibition titled Money. The exhibition is still open, and can be visited till Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Besides all kinds of currencies, documents, and everything else related to money, visitors will also see the largest diamond cut in the Czech Republic, plus many rare items, and private collections. Location: National Museum’s new building, Vinohradská 1.

The Easter Market in Wenceslas Square remains open till April 27, 2014. You can still purchase traditional Easter eggs, art, crafts, lace, and traditional sweets. There will also be entertainment, including folklore, folk music, dance, theater and children’s shows.
