The Portuguese island of Madeira is set to be featured as a luxury destination in a new brochure launched by Jet2Holidays for its 2012 Indulgent Escapes selection.

The company reported in a press release that it’s now offering tourists a chance to indulge in a range of luxury breaks across Europe, with Madeira joining the likes of Paphos in Cyprus, Costa Adeje in Tenerife and La Manga in Costa Calida.

The Indulgent Escapes selection from Jet2Holidays offers tourists a choice of four different summer holidays – spa sojourns, family escapes, golfing breaks and adult holidays, which are focused on providing the best possible hotels, facilities and locations to match each particular theme.

Madeira got the nod for inclusion thanks to its sedate lifestyle and picturesque landscapes that make the perfect environment for relaxing and rejuvenating. Not only is it a top destination for families, but it also has the luxury of a number of top spas, which fit the bill perfectly for Jet2Holidays spa sojourns.

The island has long been celebrate for its relaxed, easy-going atmosphere and its slow pace of life, which appeals to everyone from retirees to families and even young adults. The island’s capital, Funchal, affords visitors all the luxuries they could possibly need while on holiday, with a choice of tourist souvenir markets, restaurants, and an entertaining night scene, while many sporting facilities, botanical gardens and trekking routes are located nearby.

According to Jet2Holidays Steve Heapy, luxury is the main reason why Madeira was chosen as a featured destination for 2012.

“Luxury is becoming more and more important for people when it comes to choosing a holiday, which is of course hard-earned in these tough times,” he says. “Now, more and more people are prepared to sacrifice quantity for quality.”

Heapy added that Jet2Stars were extremely proud of their Indulgent Escapes selection for 2012, which is designed to afford tourists absolute luxury at the lowest possible prices.
