LOT: Bye-Bye Orbitz

LOT Polish Airlines has not renewed its partnership with Orbitz, the company announced yesterday, so don’t go looking for LOT air fares on the popular travel site anymore. The fares are not affected by the change, but travelers used to book LOT tickets on Orbitz will have to search elsewhere.

LOT has several other partners to offer customers accessible purchasing channels, and LOT’s best fares and deals are still available there, as well as on LOT’s official website at lot.com, the LOT mobile app, and online travel agencies.

“LOT continues to modernize and expand its sales channels, while cost inefficient distribution is not part of our strategy,” said Jiri Marek, LOT Polish Airlines sales and distribution executive director. “We have worked extensively during the last few months with Orbitz to extend our long-term partnership based on new competitive terms and conditions, hoping to reach a deal which would benefit Orbitz consumers. However, much to our regret, the agreement has not been reached.”

All tickets already purchased through Orbitz web sites remain valid for travel.
